Thereal benefit is when changing wetsuit thicknesss to a more Buoyant Winter Type wetsuit, you easily add or remove from existing weight belt system in a flash. The weight also doubles as a handy drop weight, simply connect the weight and drop it to anchor your float system which acts as marker buoy to point out a Reef edge, Bommie or Wreck!
